Fun Date Ideas for Married Couples
When you’re married, you sometimes lose the spontaneity and romance you had while dating. To keep the spark alive and give you quality bonding time, it’s important to incorporate date nights into your busy schedules.
Let loose and remember what it’s like to just laugh a little with your better half on a date designed to rekindle the romance and inspire a bit of frisky reminiscing.
Strap on a pair of roller or ice skates and head out together onto the rink. Hold hands as you skate around, or playfully chase each other.
See if you can do a couple of tricks, such as spins, or show off like you’re a pair of Olympic skaters and give one another scores for your antics.
Have a picnic at the playground. Share sandwiches, chips and other goodies. Pop open a bottle of wine or sparkling cider. Then go play on the playground, swinging on the monkey bars and sliding down the slides together.
Giggle like little kids and enjoy your time just letting go.
Take in a Game
Get tickets to a local baseball, basketball or football game. Dress in the local team’s colors and spend the night rooting them on. Share hot dogs and drinks.
Don’t be afraid to get a little loud and rowdy as you celebrate with the fans. Just make sure you pay as much attention to your spouse as you do to the scoreboard.
Go to a drive-in movie and slink down in the back seat like teenagers. Enjoy some cuddling and smooching time in the privacy of your car as you take in the newest release.
It’s inexpensive thrill to sneak in every now and then to give you quality fun romantic time in close quarters.
Go to an Amusement Park
Spend the day at an amusement park. Walk amongst the rides, games and gift shops holding hands as you share a sweet treat, such as cotton candy. Pay to have a caricature of the two of you drawn or play midway games to win silly prizes for one another.
Then go on some rides together to get your hearts racing. Have fun being silly and experiencing something from your childhood together as a couple.
Stroll Down Memory Lane
Recreate a memorable date night pulled from your romantic history. Take your spouse to the location of your first date, your marriage proposal or even your first big fight. Incorporate as many familiar details as possible, such as era-appropriate music or the wine you drank.
Spend the evening reminiscing about all the best moments of your marriage and laugh at the silly arguments you had early on when you were young, foolish and in love.
